Dahé – Director and Lead Graphic Designer
Dahé loves the challenge of owning a business, as the Director she takes care of all the day- to-day tasks that keep things running smoothly. She also uses her creative talents as lead graphic designer, making custom shirt designs as well as producing stylish sun-safe clothing to encourage everyone to get outdoors and have fun!
Dahé has always had an entrepreneurial spirit and started her first business during high school, selling re-purposed clothes in an online store. Growing up in South Korea Dahé always had a love for art and design, she studied graphic design and web design before her adventurous spirit lead her to Australia. Once settled in Townsville Dahé operated several successful businesses and began Design Works as a side hustle with her partner Dave five years ago. Since then, the business has continued to grow into an award-winning enterprise. In 2022 Dahé won the Townsville Chamber of Commerce Young Businessperson Award, her proudest achievement!
Deejah – Sales Consultant
Deejah takes care of our loyal customers in store and online, she makes sure the shop is well stocked and manages our social media accounts. Deejah is our resident TikTok expert (although she denies it) and loves an iced coffee.
Deejah has a creative spirit and loves to draw, she has also discovered a new passion for design, so she fits in perfectly with the creative environment of Design Works. She also loves the flexible working hours as she is a busy single mother juggling family and work. Deejah is originally from Darnley Island and Thursday Island, and she has a passion for traditional Torres Strait Islander art, Deejah wants to dedicate her future to making more art and sharing it with our customers!
Jacqui – Graphic Designer
Jacqui designs the custom shirts for our customers and lends a hand with other creative tasks such as making content for the website and social media accounts. Jacqui loves a good cup of tea while relaxing between shirt designs.
Jacqui has had a passion for the creative arts since she was little but didn’t pursue a creative career until moving to Australia from the UK twelve years ago. Design Works is her first graphic design job after returning to the work force, Jacqui took a break from work to raise three children and study a bachelor’s degree. Jacqui loves the flexible working hours that fit in around her family and she appreciates the opportunity to re-join the workforce!
