Everyone's buzzing about the Million Dollar Fish competition up in the Northern Territory, but let me introduce you to another thrilling event: the Fish 'n SIP$ Tagged Fish Competition. Get ready to dive into the excitement of fishing while also vying for some serious cash rewards. The 2024 Fish 'n SIP$ competition is back, This Queensland-based competition boasts a whopping $100,000 prize pool up for grabs and more dams added to the competition, so anglers across the state are gearing up for an adrenaline-pumping adventure.

Here's how it works:

  1. Get Your SIPS Permit: Before you cast your line, make sure you have a Stocked Impoundment Permit Scheme (SIPS) permit.

  2. Hit the Competition Locations: Head to one of the designated competition locations across Queensland and be one of the first 15 lucky anglers to catch a tagged fish.

  3. Win Big: Catching a tagged fish could mean winning a share of the $100,000 prize pool!

Competition Locations: This year, InfoFish has released 140 legal-sized fish, including barramundi, bass, and golden perch, across 8 stocked impoundments. 

  • Tinaroo Dam
  • Lake Proserpine (Peter Faust Dam)
  • Kinchant Dam
  • Callide Dam
  • Cania Dam
  • Wyaralong Dam
  • Lesie Dam

Prize Pool: The value of prizes depends on how many tagged fish have already been caught. From a grand prize of $20,000 for the first fish caught to bonuses for the first fish caught in each competition stocked impoundment, there are multiple chances to win big.

  • $20,000 for the 1st fish caught and accurately reported to InfoFish
  • $10,000 for the 2nd fish caught and accurately reported to InfoFish
  • $5,000 for the 3rd fish caught and accurately reported to InfoFish
  • $3,000 for the 4th fish caught and accurately reported to InfoFish
  • $2,000 for the 5th fish caught and accurately reported to InfoFish
  • $1,000 for each of the 6th to 15th fish caught and accurately reported to InfoFish
  • $6,250 bonus prize for the 1st fish caught in each competition stocked impoundment and accurately reported to InfoFish

Claiming Your Prize: If you're one of the lucky few to catch a tagged fish, promptly report it to InfoFish by calling 1800 077 001. Remember, only the first 15 reported catches will be eligible for prizes. Follow the reporting process diligently, including providing photo evidence of your catch, to claim your prize.

Entrant Responsibilities: Make sure to familiarise yourself with the competition's terms and conditions to ensure a smooth experience. Entrants are responsible for promptly reporting their catches to InfoFish to avoid any loss of prize eligibility.
